Summer Self-direction Programme (21-23 Aug 2007)
The Summer Self-direction Programme was to help our incoming F6 boys prepare for their studies in Secondary 6 Education. The programme included a leadership training camp, an English immersion programme and theme talks. All students enjoyed an exciting summer before the start of the new school year.

Summer Adaptation Programme (9-17 Aug 2007)
The Summer Adaptation Programme was to help our incoming F1 boys prepare for their studies in Secondary Education. The programme included school facility introduction, community visits, English immersion programmes, adolescent health programmes and so on. The graduation ceremony was held on the last day and all students enjoyed a wonderful summer.

A Splendid Job Done!
Our school team won the 1st Runner Up in the First Hong Kong Cup of Diplomatic Knowledge Contest, after an intense competition with four other schools in the final. What a splendid job done by our students! They will be invited by the Foreign Ministry of the Central Government to visit Beijing, together with the other finalists.

Grantham Scholars of the Year Award
Kwan Pui Chun, Expo (6A) was one of the 24 awardees of the Grantham Scholars of the Year Award of 2006-2007. The scholarship is granted based on the students’ academic performance, extra-curricular activities and community services. Congratulations to Expo Kwan.

Historical Moment of Our Handball Team
On 2 June 2007, our C-Grade Handball Team won the 1st Runner Up in the 21st Five on Five Children Handball Competition, an open C-Grade competition for the secondary schools in Hong Kong. We were the only school with two teams in the semi-final, with the results as the 1st Runner Up and the 5th. What a historical moment for our handball team! Congratulation to them all! It is the reward of their hard work. They have been trained with 2 matches a day for a month.

Hong Kong 200 Leadership Programme
Kwan Pui Chun Expo (6A) has been selected as one of the participants in the “Hong Kong 200” Leadership Programme organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Group. This programme selects student leaders from the schools of Hong Kong and provides guidance to them for contribution to Hong Kong through various activities. Expo represented the participating students to deliver a short speech in the inauguration ceremony.

We are the Champion!
Congratulations! Our C-Grade Handball Team made history on 12 May 2007. They won the Championship in the Final of HKSSF Handball Competition in Shatin and Sai Kung District. “I am very proud of them," our handball team coach Mr. Jackie Chan commented. "They showed determination and as well as joy in their tough training. This is a great return from their hard work." Moreover, our Handball Team got the best results in HKSSF handball competition this year among 56 schools in Shatin and Sai Kung District: A-Grade - 5th; B-Grade - 2nd and C-Grade - 1st.

First HK Cup of Diplomatic Knowledge Contest
Our school is one of the five finalists in the First Hong Kong Cup Diplomatic Knowledge Contest (第一屆香港杯外交知識競賽決賽), to be held on 16 June 2007. Members of our school team are Expo Kwan (6A), Ken Lee (3T), Tang See Yuan (3W), Parkco Leung (3T) and Li Ho Wang (6A). Congratulation to all of them and wish them all the best in the final. 1st Runner Up in HKSSF B-Grade Handball
Our B-Grade handball team got the 1st runner up in the HKSSF of the Shatin and Sai Kung District. "Our school team showed the sportsmanship, good effort and right attitude in the match,” our handball team coach Mr. Jackie Chan commented. "These values are important and I hope our students can learn these values from the game. They are more important than the Championship. It is the way for the boys to grow up. Keep up the hard work, boys!"

Cross-Country Running Victory
Our cross-country running team made history on 21 March 2007. Our A-Grade team got the championship, while our C-Grade team got the 1st runner-up in the inter-school long distance run competition among the teams in the Shatin & Sai Kung Area. Our athletes have spent more than hundred hours in hard and tough trainings in order to have the ability to finish running competition within half an hour. Every kind of achievement needs patience, diligence and faith. This attitude should be applied to all aspects of our lives. Please remember: No Pain, No Gain!

Top Reader Prizes and Best Partner School Award
Eight of our students won the Top Reader Prizes among students from 150 schools which use i-Learner English programme. Our school also won the Best Partner School Award, representing best participation of students and best support provided by teachers to students in the learning process. Beijing & Hong Kong Youth Handball Championship
Our student Ho Po Sang 何寶生 (4A) is one of the members of the Hong Kong Junior Squad U18 to Beijing for participation and training in the Beijing & Hong Kong Youth Handball Championship (京港手球錦標賽). We appreciate his enthusiasm in handball and his effort in representing Hong Kong.

Inter-school Athletics Competition 2006-2007
Our athletic team performed excellently in the three-day Inter-school Athletics Competitions 2006-07 on 19, 24 & 25 January. Chan Min Ting (5C) won a Silver medal in A-Grade 5,000m and a Bronze medal in 1,500m. Ko Cheuk Man (3P) won a Bronze medal in B-Grade 3,000m. Lam Yung Kwan (1T) won silver medals in C-Grade 100m and Long Jump. Tang Ho Tsun (2W) won a Bronze medal in C-Grade 800m. Our A-Grade and C-Grade athletic teams ranked the 4th among more than fifty teams of competitors from Shatin and Sai Kung Area.

Junior Choir Performed at TVB
Our Junior Choir was invited to an interview and performance for a cultural programme of TVB namely Cultural New Horizon (文化新領域). They performed a Christmas Song “Jingle Bell Rock” and talked about choral singing and the life in our school choir. This episode was broadcast on December 23 (Saturday) at 9am.

School Choir Performance at Festival Walk
Our School Choir was invited by the Festival Walk to give a performance of Christmas Carols. Their performance attracted many people in the shopping mall and gained great applause. Merry Christmas!

Junior Choir in Concert at the Cathedral
Our Junior Choir was invited by the Hong Kong Catholic Diocesan Sacred Music Commission to perform in the Concert of Eucharistic Hymn at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. We performed Ave Verum Corpus (W.A. Mozart) and聖體聖血 (Victorique). Also Panis Angelicus (Cesar Franck) and Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring (J.S. Bach) with the Hong Kong Catholic Diocesan Choir under the baton of Dr. Allison So. This is our third time having sung in the presence of Cardinal Joseph Zen. Our performance was highly commended by the Sacred Music Commission, audience, parents, and teachers. It is indeed a Life Education combined with Music, Catholic Faith, and Virtues.

Congratulations to Our School Cross-country Team
Our PE teacher Mr. Raymond Fong reported on our success in the inter-school cross-country competition 2006-2007: “I am so excited today. It is the first time that our cross-country team gets the team prizes in the inter-school competition. Our athletes have put up a lot of effort for the competition. Long-distance running needs patience and persistence, just like our paths of life, full of obstacles, temptations and difficulties. Sometimes we will lose our directions, miss our goals and even want to give up. However, if we can get over the difficulties through our diligence, we will succeed and have achievements one day.”

6th Annual Speech Day
The 6th Annual Speech Day was a memorable day for our F.5 and F.7 graduates. They received their graduate certificates from the Guest of Honour, Dr. Philip Stimpson of the Faculty of Education of the University of Hong Kong, who gave them a very inspiring speech and encouraged them to "live life to the full extent and with passion". The valedictory speech was provided by Kwan Pui Chun (6A), who got 7A and 1B in 2006 HKCEE. Congratulations to all our F.5 and F.7 graduates!

Southridge Boys Choir Visit
We had visitors from afar this week. They were the Boys Choir from Southridge School, accompanied by their parents and teachers. Southridge School (http://www.paref.org/southridge/index.htm) is a well-known school in the Philippines, which shares the same spirit and philosophy of education of Tak Sun. During their visit, our students had an opportunity to widen their global outlook. We would thank the Southridge Boys Choir for their wonderful performance.

Cheers to TSSS Swimming Team
Tang Ho Tsun (2W) broke the 50m Free Style record in the Shatin and Sai Kung District C Grade swimming competition of HKSSF. He also got the champion of 200m Free Style & 4x50m Free Style Relay. Our Ho Kwun Yin (4B) got the champion of 200m Breast and 2nd runner up of 100m Breast in B Grade competition. Our C Grade Free Style Relay Team got the champion of 4x50m Free Style Relay and they also got the 5th in the C grade group results out of 32 schools in the HKSSF. Let's cheer to them for their success!
