The City University of Hong Kong, Department of Marketing has written to inform the school that our graduate Tsui Yat Tung (2018) has won the 2022-23 Student Marketing Consultancy Project award (傑出學生市場顧問獎) for his outstanding performance and thank the school for its contribution to his education. Tsui Yat Tung has achieved this thanks to his hard work and application.

The Alumni Day was held on Saturday 4th December. The school received the visit of 80 old boys, the oldest a graduate of 2001 and the youngest, the graduates of 2020. These had not been able to have a speech day due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. They were welcomed back by the Principal, Mr. Dennis Law who updated them on the current situation of the school. In addition, one parent of the Class of 2020 gave the boys a gift of facemasks with the Tak Sun logo. The alumni were happy to chat with their classmates and former Class Teachers over Tuck Shop snacks to remind them of their schooldays. Afterwards the results of the Alumni Manager election results were announced and the new alumni manager will be Mr. Jack Leung (Class of 2017) who recently graduated from HKUST. Mr. Expo Kwan (Class of 2008) will continue to serve as president of the Alumni Association. Dr. Edward Woo |

With great sadness, we would like to inform you that Dr. Edward Woo passed away on 15th May 2019 in Canada. Dr. Woo was the 2nd Principal of our School from 2001 until his retirement in 2010. He joined our School in the year 2000 as the Vice-Principal and a Geography teacher. The School would like to send our condolences to Dr. Woo's family. The School has arranged a prayer service during the daily Holy Mass on 17th May starting at 8:25 am. May he rest in peace.

This year CHOW Marco Hin Yue, LI Ming Chun and WONG Tsz Yin, Jacko (Form 6M graduates of the Class of 2018) enrolled in degree programmes at CUHK. Marco and Jacko were nominated under the Principal’s Nomination Scheme. Meanwhile CHENG Ka Yin Samuel (Form 6J graduate of the Class of 2016) and SHAM Chun Lok, Samuel (Form 6J graduate of the Class of 2017) had outstanding academic performance in diploma programmes at CUSCS. This year seven other graduates from the Class of 2018 have enrolled in higher diploma programmes at CUSCS.

Gordon Ho won a silver medal in the Asian Games 2018! |

|
HO Hoi Tung, Gordon (Form 7 Graduate of the Class of 2010) won the silver medal in the recent Asian Games 2018 at Jakarta, Indonesia! He is a member of the Hong Kong Bridge Team. This is the first time bridge has been an event in the Asian Games and they made history for Hong Kong. Congratulations to Gordon again!

This was an annual School event engaging all old boys coming back to their alma mater, which was mainly organized by the Tak Sun Secondary School Alumni Association. Some activities were arranged together with the barbeque. Around 50 old boys and teachers coming back to support. In addition, the General Meeting was held and Poon Wai Lok (Form 7 Graduates of Class of 2002) was nominated as the Alumni Manager for the next term.

With great sadness, we would like to inform you that Mr. Jean Lee passed away on 4th February 2017. His funeral prayer service was completed on 11th February at St. Teresa Church. Mr. Lee was teaching English Language at our school during 2003-2004 and later he served as the Chairman of GRSC (Governance Review Sub-Committee) of the School's IMC (Incorporated Management Committee) from 2013-2014. The School would like to send our condolence to Jean's family. May he rest in peace.

TSANG Lok Hin Gary (a 3J old boy) has been studying in California since January 2015. Before leaving Hong Kong, he was HKSSF All N.T. B-Grade Fencing Champion (epee). He continues to compete in USA and this week he won the Southern California Summer National Qualifier and will join the USA National Fencing Tournament later this year. Congratulations to Gary from classmates and teachers of his Alma Mater.

Alumni Homecoming Day |

This was an annual School event engaging all old boys coming back to their alma mater, which was mainly organized by the Tak Sun Secondary School Alumni Association. Ball games and board games were arranged together with the barbeque. More than 60 old boys and teachers coming back to support. In addition, the Annual General Meeting was held and the new Executive Committee was formed. After the event, some of them even went outside for another gathering again!

To celebrate the 家HK Campaign during May 6-12, an International Beach Handball Competition was organized in Kwai Chung. Over 200 competitors and officials from 9 Asian countries took part. Our old boy, Ivan Leung, now a 1st year student at City U was goal-keeper for the Hong Kong Men's Team who came 5th in the competition. Congratulations to Ivan and all the Hong Kong Team.

CHAN Wing Chun, Frankie (Form 7 Graduate of Class of 2009) was currently teaching a cappella. When he was studying at TSSS, he was always winners in the school singing contests. Also, he was invited in some TV programmes and performed in some shows in Hong Kong. He has been further developed his interest in educating our next generations. Tak Sun wins the Best Hong Kong Red Cross Youth member of the year |

LOUIE Yin Lam (Form 6 graduate of the Class of 2012) received the Best Hong Kong Red Cross Youth member of the year! With his contribution to the Tak Sun Red Cross Youth Unit 304, he was selected as a role model among all Hong Kong Red Cross members. In the short history of Tak Sun Red Cross, just 5 years, we have two students received this honour. It is a remarkable achievement in Hong Kong. In addition, Yin Lam and Chau Lai Hei (Form 7 graduate of the Class of 2012) received the Honour Award also to recognize their efforts paid in Red Cross. Congratulations to them!

LAM Yat Hymn Douglas (F2 in 2004 – 2005), who is now studying Commerce at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada, recently received the Undergraduate Teaching Assistant Award by the Department of Computer Science which was recognizing his outstanding performance in providing online tutorials and assistance. In addition, with his outstanding academic performances, he was in the Dean’s List. He is now working as a Research Assistant in the Sauder School of Business at the UBC. We wish him a higher level of achievements in the future.

On behalf of the family of LUNG Chi Chung Ben (龍志沖) (F7 graduate of Class of 2004), we would like to inform you that Ben’s memorial service will be held on 25th May (Friday) from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Room 304 at Kowloon Funeral Parlour (九龍殯儀館). Christian service will be organized. His funeral will be held on 26th May (Saturday) at 8:30 am. Then, they will proceed to Cape Collinson Crematorium (歌連臣角火葬場). May he rest in peace.

With great sadness, we would like to inform you that LUNG Chi Chung Ben (F7 graduate of Class of 2004) passed away on 7th May 2012. He was 27. Our Tak Sun Secondary School Alumni Association has set up a fundraising campaign for his medical expenses. The donation received will be given to his family as a condolence. On 11th May 2012 (Friday), a special mass will be arranged in the morning at 8:30 am at the School Chapel. May he rest in peace.

LO Kai Ho Keith (2002 F7 Graduate) led HK Ladies and got 5th place in the Junior Fed Cup |

LO Kai Ho Keith (F7 Graduate of Class of 2002) led the Hong Kong ladies team to participate in the Junior Fed Cup by BNP Paribas 2012 Asia/Oceania Final Qualifying, which was held from 24th to 29th April at Victoria, Australia. Keith is the captain of the Hong Kong ladies tennis team and the team finally got the 5th place after beating the 1st seeding team India in their last match. Mok Yi Yun Jonathan (Form 7 Graduate of Class of 2010) performed Er-hu (二胡) publicly at the Shatin Town Hall in his er-hu teacher’s concert “桃李芬芳 古箏、二胡演奏會”. The house was full and the performance was well received by the audience. Jonathan is now studying his favourite subject Physics at the University of Hong Kong.

Wong Tsz-sang brings renown to Hong Kong with his creative project |

WONG Tsz Sang (Form 7 Graduate of Class of 2007) recently won a grand award in the tertiary student project category of The Asia Pacific Information and Communications Technology Awards (APICTA) for his undergraduate honours project “Ulcer Detection in Gastrointestinal Videos”. With such achievements, he has been interviewed by different media. After he graduated in the Hong Kong Baptist University, thanks to his talent, Tsz Sang is now studying in the Chinese University of Hong Kong to further pursue his studies in Computer Science. Clarence LAI got the Bronze medal in the All China University Fencing Championships |

LAI Clarence Ka Tsun (Form 7 Graduate of Class of 2010) won the Bronze medal in Men’s Epee (Grade C Team) in the 17th All China University Fencing Championship held in Guangzhou. Clarence is now rank number 8 in Hong Kong and 2 in Hong Kong Youth. Apart from good academic results, he keeps continue his favourite sports and perform well on behalf of Hong Kong. Our graduate, HO Hoi Tung (F7 Graduate of Class of 2010), represented Hong Kong China Youth Team and participated in the Asia-Pacific Bridge Federation Championships in Malaysia from 14th to 25th June 2011. In the Team event, Hong Kong Team got the 6th place. In the Open Pairs event, Gordon and his partner got the 2nd runner-up among all players in the Asia-Pacific region! Congratulations, Gordon!

LAI Clarence Ka Tsun (Form 7 Graduate of the Class of 2010) has entered the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is now studying the Hotel Management after his graduation from Tak Sun. He showed his talents in fencing when he was studying at Tak Sun. Now, even though he is very busy in his study, he still performs very well in his favourite sport – fencing. Well done, Clarence!

This was mainly organized by the newly formed Tak Sun Secondary School Alumni Association. Ball games, board games and computer games were arranged before dinner started. There was a light dinner and the old boys could still have ball games and board games afterwards and some of them even went outside for another gathering again!

Our graduate, LEE Yu Sum (Form 7 Graduate of the Class of 2008), was awarded Best Student in Chinese for Professional Purposes in CIE Association Degree Programme of Hong Kong Baptist University in July 2010. Hence, he was given a scholarship. He is presently an undergraduate studying Philosophy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Another graduate, LI Yat Tung (Form 7 Graduate of the Class of 2005), has entered the President’s Honour Roll and Dean’s List in the last academic year of his studies in the Bachelor of Chinese Medicine and Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biomedical Science programme.

Our graduate, AU Lut Chi (F7 Graduate of Class of 2007) participated with his classmates in the City University of Hong Kong in the 6th Annual Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition by winning the Honourable Mention for the Claimant’s Memorandum. “Our team competed against other teams from around the world and this helped to boost my understanding of the civil and common law systems and various debating techniques,” said Au Lut-chi, who was taking part in his first competition. He also thanked his team members for polishing his knowledge of complicated international law concepts. Congratulations to AU Lut Chi!
